Why The Bear Inn is proud to host Wincanton's first ever Pride

This June, something quietly historic is happening in our little market town. On Friday 26th June, Wincanton is holding its very first ever Pride event — and The Bear Inn is honoured to be the home for it. When the idea was first floated, we didn't have to think twice. The Bear has stood on the corner of Wincanton High Street for centuries, and in all that time the thing that's mattered most to us has stayed the same: this is a place where everyone is welcome. Locals, visitors, families, old friends, new neighbours. If you're here, you're one of us. A Pride event in a town like Wincanton is a quietly powerful thing. Pride doesn't just belong to big cities. It belongs to every village green, every market square, every corner pub where someone has wondered whether they'd be accepted if they walked in. We want the answer to that question, every single day, to be a clear and unequivocal yes — and on Friday 26th June we'll be saying it loud, in colour, with music and bunting and a Rainbow Spritz in everyone's hand. ## What to expect From 3pm until 11pm, we'll be throwing open the doors for an afternoon and evening that's part celebration, part community fair, and entirely joyful. Expect live entertainment, a fantastic line-up of local stallholders showcasing makers, crafts, food, gifts and community groups, and the kind of atmosphere that only happens when a town comes out to support something it believes in. Bring the kids — it's family-friendly until 9pm. Bring the dog. Bring the friend who's been on the fence about coming. Bring yourself, exactly as you are. ## Supporting our local LGBTQ+ community Throughout Pride week we'll be donating £1 from every Rainbow Spritz sold to a local LGBTQ+ charity.
